Pakistan need 267 runs to win against India in a high-voltage match in the Asia Cup. India were bowled out for 266 runs in 48.5 overs. In other words, Babar Azam’s team has to make 267 to win.

India won the toss and elected to bat first in their first Asia Cup match at Pallekele on Saturday (September 2). Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya led India to a big collection despite falling to the brilliant bowling of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf. However, they were bowled out for 266 against arch-rival Pakistan.

At the beginning of the match, two openers Rohit and Shubman Gill batted cautiously against Shaheen and Nasim Shah. However, rain struck in the fifth over. That’s why the game is stopped for half an hour. But when the game started again, Shaheen magic was seen.

Rohit bowled the last ball of the fifth over with a great inswing delivery. The Indian captain returned with 11 runs in 2 fours off 22 balls. After coming to the wicket, Kohli handled Nasim’s over very well. He also hit a four in a spectacular cover drive. But this right-handed batsman moved in front of this experienced batsman Shahin.

He brought himself into danger by batting the ball outside the off-stump. The ball hits the stumps straight after hitting the bat. So he has to return in 4 runs. Rauf came in the tenth over after Shaheen took two wickets. Shreyas was caught by Fakhar Zaman at mid-wicket while hitting his ball. Departed with 14 runs off 9 balls.

Rauf also brought back Gill who was steady and batting slowly. In the fifteenth over, Gill could not bat while defending his ball; Goes straight to the stumps. The Indian batsman returned to Sajghar after scoring 10 runs off 32 balls. Then Ishan and Pandya took the lead of the team in the fifth wicket. Both bats had the touch of an aggressor. On that Pakistan’s fielding miss runs started to come out easily.

They added 138 runs for the fifth wicket and relieved India of the pressure. Both of them had to stop in the eighties even though they were in the race for the century. Rauf brought back Ishan and gave Pakistan a break through. Ishan caught Babar Azam as he jumped up. The left-handed batsman stopped playing an innings of 82 runs off 81 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Pandya, who scored 87 runs in 90 balls with 7 fours and 1 six, was the victim of Shaheen.

Then Nasim Shah broke India’s tail. Jasprit Bumrah (16) showed some brilliance with the bat but could not take India very far. They were bowled out for 266 against arch-rivals Pakistan.
