Distribution Of Cash And Relief Items To Flood Victims by Caritas Bangladesh At Bandarban

On the initiative of non-governmental development organization Caritas Bangladesh,on Thursday (August 31) cash and emergency materials were distributed among the victims of the recent floods at Bandarban Sadar Union Parishad. Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh MP attended the event as the chief guest and distributed cash and various materials among 150 victims.
During the discussion Meeting,Minister Bir Bahadur said that this initiative of the government as well as Caritas Bangladesh is appreciated for the victims of the terrible flood during the commemoration period.
Caritas stands by the people of Bandarban in every disaster and comes forward with humanitarian aid.For many years,the organization has supported the needs of Bandarban residents.At The Time Minister Bir Bahadur urged To Other organizations to come forward to serve the victims.
Marcel Ratan Guda,regional director of Caritas Bangladesh Chittagong region gave a welcome speech at the relief distribution ceremony.Additional Superintendent of Police Hossain Mohammad Raihan Kazemi, Senior Assistant Commissioner Arun Ratan Singha,Red Crescent Society Bandarban Unit Secretary Amal Kanti Das,Executive Director of Humanitarian Foundation Mangmang Singh Were Present At The Time.Bandarban Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Aungcha Hla Marma presided over the event.
Caritas officials said that Caritas Bangladesh has undertaken a project under the management of Chittagong region and with the financial support of UK, Netherlands Government and CRS through Start Fund Bangladesh to provide assistance to 3,750 families in Bandarban,Rangamati and Cox’s Bazar districts (Flood Victim).Bandarban’s private development organization Humanitarian Foundation and Rangamati Ashika are providing overall support in the implementation of this project as local organizations.
