Engine boat broke down in the sea, fishermen rescued

The Coast Guard has rescued 14 fishermen from a fishing boat named FB Kazi, whose engine broke down in the deep sea. Lieutenant Commander Abdur Rahman, media officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters gave this information on Wednesday.
He said that on August 23, the fishing boat went to the sea from Premashia Ghat in Banshkhali for the purpose of fishing. At one stage on August 26 at approximately 1.30 am, the engine broke down and the boat floated uncontrollably in the sea.
Tuesday (August 29), the fishermen contacted Bangladesh Coast Guard East Zone seeking rescue assistance when the boat came under mobile network. Later, the captain of the Coast Guard’s regular patrol ship, Porte Grande, Lt. Commander Imtiaz Uddin Sarkar led a rescue operation at sea at 9:35 am.
