The meeting of Sunamkantha Sahitya Parishad of Sunamganj’s top newspaper ‘Dainik Sunamkantha’ was held.  The meeting was held at ‘Dainik Sunamkantha’ office in Muktarpara area of the city on Saturday at 5 pm.  The committee has been formed after the meeting.  Bijan Sen Roy, editor and publisher of Dainik Sunamkantha, presided over the meeting.  Under the direction of lecturer Dulal Mia, among others, teachers Anup Narayan, Motilal Chand, Sazaur Rahman, Fariha Begum, Abu Zaker Prince, Shah Md.  Kamruzzaman, Sampa Shimu, Abhay Sujit, Nilakantha Dash.

After the meeting, a 17-member committee was formed for a period of two years.  There are 5 advisory members in the committee.  They are-Professor Nathanael Edwin Fair Cross, Principal Professor Rajat Kanti Som Manas, Beer Muktijoddha Adv.  Asad Ullah Sarkar, Poet Iqbal Kaghi, Daily Sunamkantha editor and publisher Bijan Sen Roy.
Others in the committee are – president Dulal Mia, vice president Md.  Sazaur Rahman, General Secretary Anup Narayan, Joint-General Secretary Abu Zaker Prince, Organizing Secretary Lucky Biswas, Finance- Editor Shah Md. Kamruzzaman, Publicity Editor Sujit Biswas, Publication Affairs Editor Fariha Begum, Cultural Editor Sampa Shimu, Executive- Member Md.  Jamal Hossain, Md.  Anwarul Haque, Nishendu Ranjan Goswami, Nilakantha Das, Suranjit Talukder, Biman Purkayastha, Ripa Chanda, Akram Uddin.  Speakers in the discussion meeting said, “Dainik Sunamkantha Sahitya Parishad has been operating since 2001. Every time, a two-year committee has been formed. Through this organization, people in the society will be made aware of various issues and will be encouraged to write and practice literature.”
