The days of suppressing the people by jail-tyranny are over: 12-party alliance
Dhaka/
The top leaders of the 12-party alliance commented that the current Awami League government has been isolated nationally and internationally. They urged the ruling government to immediately accept the one-point demand of the people. Otherwise, they warned of creating a tough movement in the country.
Speakers said these things at a short rally before the black flag rally in the capital on Friday afternoon.
They also said that the government and the government party have become reckless knowing that the fall is certain. The death blow has struck the opposition. Arbitrary arrests are being carried out across the country, ignoring Western sanctions and warnings from international human rights organizations including the United Nations. The day is over, they cannot accept that India cannot protect them! The days of suppressing the people by jail and torture are over. The dream of retaining power is now just a nightmare!
A black flag procession led by a 12-party alliance came out from the road adjacent to the Vijayanagar water tank to demand the resignation of the fascist government of Sheikh Hasina, the dissolution of the parliament, and elections under a neutral government, along with the condemnation and protest of arbitrary arrest, arrangement and fabrication of the opposition party leaders and activists. At the end of the rally, the top leaders of the 12-party alliance participated in the procession and led it.
Chairman of the 12-party alliance Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar), ex-minister Mustafa Jamal Haider spoke at the rally presided over by- Alliance spokesperson Kalyan Party Chairman Bir Muktijodha Major General (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim Birpratik, Bangladesh National Party Chairman Advocate Syed Ehsanul Huda, Bangladesh LDP Secretary General Shahadat Hossain Salim, Jamiat Ulamai Islam Bangladesh Secretary General Mufti Golam Mohiuddin Ikram, Bangladesh Muslim League (BML) Chairman Advocate Sheikh Zulfiqar Bulbul Chowdhury, Jatiya Gontantric Party (JAGPA), Senior Vice President Rashed Pradhan, NAP Bhasani Chairman Advocate Azharul Islam, Islami Oikya Jot Chairman Maulana Abdul Karim, Bangladesh Islamic Party Secretary General Abul Kashem, Bangladesh Justice Party General Secretary Mansur Alam Sikder. Jatiya Party Joint Secretary General ASM Shamim presided over the rally.
Mustafa Jamal Haider said that the Awami League government has been isolated nationally and internationally. The BRICS conference is proof of that. However, the foreign minister said that Bangladesh’s membership in BRICS is guaranteed; But no dictatorial fascist government enjoys world status. We have continued the movement to demand.
Syed Muhammad Ibrahim Birpratik said that as the whole world is in crisis, Bangladesh is also affected by various problems. So I would say Sarkar Bahadur you should immediately accept the demand of non-partisan neutral caretaker government. Today there is an economic and diplomatic crisis in the country. Appeal to the opposition party to strengthen your movement.
Other speakers said that the people of the administration and the ruling party have realized that their time is up. Fear of defeat and fear of retribution for misdeeds has spread among them. The support of India as a Sanjibani Shakti has been hyped to instill courage in their minds and to keep them strong from the fear of defeat.
The leaders said, India is our neighbor. Neighbors cannot be changed. So we consider the people of India as our friends. Besides, it is also desired that the Government of India should try to understand the sentiments of the people of Bangladesh and not a particular party. We want to believe that the Government of India will not take a stand against the people of Bangladesh.
They said, it is being observed that people in the ruling party are trying to feel the warmth of India’s support. Party leaders and administration are trying to maintain morale by referring to India’s blessings to boost the depressed mood. The foreign minister said in a public meeting, “I have asked India to bring the Sheikh Hasina government back to power.” What was the purpose of getting the freedom gained in exchange for the blood of three million people, to break the chains of slavery in Pindi and become a slave of Delhi!
The leaders also said that many things are proving that the government is disoriented. Currently, former BUET student Tanjilur Rahman, a PhD researcher in America, has been arrested in Khulna’s Khalishpur for criticizing the government with a post on August 20. His mother Anisha Siddika was arrested. Amnesty International strongly condemned the incident and demanded the immediate release of Tanjilur’s mother. Amnesty also said that the spate of arrests ahead of the parliamentary elections is creating an atmosphere of distrust in the country.
The leaders urged the government to accept the demands of the people without muddying the waters any more and said, “Think of a peaceful and safe exit.” We are willing to cooperate.
