A traffic policeman named Biplab Islam (51) was killed after being hit by a truck in Gaibandha.

The accident happened on Thursday (August 24) around 6:30 am at Old Jail Khana intersection in the district.

The deceased Biplab Islam Gaibandha was working in the traffic department. His house is in Sirajganj.

It is reported that traffic police Biplab Islam was on duty at the zero point junction adjacent to Gaibandha’s old jail and traffic police box in the morning when he reached the zero point on a motorcycle when an unidentified truck hit him from behind. Traffic Police Biplab Islam died on the spot.

Confirming this information, Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Masud Rana said that it was not possible to arrest the truck as it fled immediately after the accident.
