Police do not make political statements. Bangladesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has commented that he is doing his duty to protect law and order.

I am obliged to fulfill this responsibility. I am trained in law enforcement, taught law and given necessary logistical support in law enforcement. Whatever is necessary will be done to protect the life and property of the people.

Responding to allegations that the police are arresting BNP activists with old and useless weapons, the police chief said that such allegations are not correct. We have taken legal action with the weapons we got from them in the operation. This allegation is baseless and baseless.
