BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the government wants to show the western world and India by staging a militant drama. Referring to the recent arrest of militants, he said that some ordinary people were picked up as militants from a neighborhood because of the barren forest. It is what they (the government) need. Because, they want to show that there are militants in Bangladesh, there is militancy, only they need to suppress it. This is their main purpose.
He said these things while addressing a memorial meeting on the occasion of the 8th death anniversary of one of the organizers of the liberation war and former prime minister Kazi Zafar Ahmed at Kakrail Diploma Engineers Institution auditorium in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul said, common people know that Awami League is a terrorist, this government is a terrorist. Because, they are killing the common people of the country by imposing terrorism and militancy, taking away their rights. That is militancy. There is no way to deny these words.
Mirza Fakhrul also said that it is true that the people of this country are religious. It is not a sin, not a crime. That’s why this government is profiting by turning any people who practice religion into terrorists.
