Through the release of fish larvae in the water bodies located in the Kumarkhali upazila area of Kushtia, fish fry have been released in 9 institutional and 2 open water bodies in different areas of the upazila.
District Fisheries Officer Md. Abdul Bari and Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Bitan Kumar Mondal announced the inauguration of the fish fry release and distribution program as guests at the fish fry release ceremony organized by the Upazila Fisheries Department at 10.00 am.
Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Noore Alam Siddiqui, all officers and employees of the Fisheries Department were present.It is to be noted that under the revenue sector of 2023-24 financial year, 428 kg of fish fry were distributed among the heads of 11 institutional water bodies of the upazila with the aim of releasing these juvenile fish in open and institutional water bodies.
