Robbery of wedding car, robbery of gold ornaments

In Gaibandha, a wedding car was blocked and robbed in the afternoon. In this, the driver was beaten up with gold ornaments and cash stolen from the car.
Robin Sen, president of Gaibandha Car and Microbus Owners Association, filed a complaint at Gaibandha Sadar police station on Friday (August 18) night in this incident. Earlier, the incident took place at Dariapur Jhowbari Namaksthan in Gidari Union at around 3:30 pm.
It is mentioned in the complaint that on Friday afternoon, driver Motaleb Mia and driver Nuruzzaman Mia were coming from Kamarjani Bazar towards Gaibandha town with wedding passengers. On the way to Jhowbari Namaksthan, identified criminals of that area Shubo Mia and Maqbul Hossain threw tree branches on the road and stopped the car and started beating the drivers. Later, they broke the windows of two cars and looted Tk 40,000 in cash and gold ornaments. When the National Emergency Service called 999, police arrived at the scene and rescued the drivers.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station Masud Rana told CNBangladesh that a complaint has been received in this matter. Necessary action will be taken subject to investigation.
