Distribution Of Books Among Flood Affected Students

Deputy Commissioner Shah Mujahid Uddin handed over new books to 292 HSC examinees affected by the recent flood in Bandarban.On Sunday (August 20) these books were distributed among the Alim students studying in colleges, vocational institutes and madrasas of the district city in a function organized in the conference room of the District Commissioner’s office.Deputy Commissioner Shah Mojahid Uddin said that,More than hundred educational institutions in Bandarban have suffered heavy losses due to recent landslides and floods.Student’s books were lost in water.Especially the HSC examinees affected by the loss of books in the flood water.They are being given new books on priority basis.In the first phase,159 Student’s and a total of 292 student’s of higher secondary level of seven upazilas are being given new books.Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Suraiya Akhter Sweety,District Parishad member Laxmi Pada Das,District Secondary Education Officer Faridul Alam Husainy,Press Club President Aminul Islam (Baccu)
were present on the occasion.The district secondary education officer said that the floods have caused extensive damage to the district headquarters and Lamar schools.
