Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nangalkot police station said that the current MP of Comilla-10 (Nagalkot, Sadar Dakshin and Lalmai) constituencies should vote again for Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal. Farooq Hossain has been transferred to the police line.

In an office order signed by District Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan on Thursday, he was told to be transferred to the Comilla Police Line. The matter came to light on Friday.

OC Farooq Hossain said in the National Mourning Day discussion meeting on Tuesday that the people of Nangalkot will re-elect the Finance Minister by popular vote. This is my plea to you. In fact, the finance minister has made many developments in Nangalkot. Many areas of Nangalkot had no roads, no electricity. When he came, he won your hearts and brought you to the pinnacle of development.’

The OC’s 39-second speech seeking votes for the finance minister went viral on social media. Many people questioned whether the OC can make such a statement as a government official.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Raihan Mehbub, Chairman of Nangalkot Upazila Parishad Samchuddin, Vice Chairman Abu Yusuf Bhuiyan and government officials and public representatives were present in the discussion meeting organized by Nangalkot Upazila Administration.

Mustafa Kamal Comilla South District Awami League President. He is a Member of Parliament of this constituency since 29 December 2008. He has been serving as Planning Minister since 2014 and Finance Minister since 2018.
