In Rajnagar Upazila of Moulvibazar, a mother strangled her child who was addicted to mobile phone by wrapping a veil around his neck. In this incident, mother Suhena Begum was arrested by Rajnagar police station.

On Wednesday (August 16) morning, Suhena Begum (40) of Indranagar Pan Punji village of Uttarbhag Union of Rajnagar Upazila prohibited her 13-year-old son Amirul Hasan Joy from using mobile phones. When the son did not listen to his mother, the mother beat him. At one point, he strangled him by wrapping a veil around his son’s neck. Later the police got the information and arrested Suhena Begum.

In this regard, Rajnagar police station officer-in-charge Binay Bhushan Roy told CNBangladesh that the body of the deceased child Amirul Hasan Joy was recovered and sent to the 250-bed Sadar Hospital in Moulbbiaja for post-mortem. Mother Suhena Begum has been arrested on charges of murder. A murder case will be filed in this regard.
