Expiration of the project before the start of work, fake voucher withdrawal!

The project expired on 30th June last. Work has not started yet. The money was not returned. Instead, all the money was withdrawn by making fake bills and vouchers.
Information about this irregularity has emerged in the development work of 33 government primary schools in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha. However, the upazila primary education officer could not give any information about this. Anwarul Islam.
According to the investigation, under the Fourth Primary Education Development Program (PEDP 4) in the fiscal year 2022-23, 200,000 taka has been allocated for minor repairs in 33 government primary schools of this upazila. The last date for the implementation of the work was last 30 June. Almost a month and a half has passed but the work has not yet started.
The allocated schools are – Government Primary School No.1, Dharmapur Government Primary School, Velarai Government Primary School, Bowali Government Primary School No.2, Dhubani Kanchibari Government Primary School, Nachni Ghagoa Government Primary School, Nizam Khan Government Primary School, Jamadar Char Government Primary School, Bhatir Char Government Primary School, Shyamray Path Government Primary School, Belka Monika Government Primary School, Bamanjal Government Primary School, Biswas Haldia Government Primary School, Char Bhati Burail Government Primary School, Baidyanath Government Primary School, Burail Para Government Primary School , Dakshin Sahabaz Government Primary School.
Besides, the newly nationalized schools include Jigabari Primary School, Bochagari Girls Primary School, Chandipur Paschimpara Primary School, Bochagari Primary School, Charkapasiya Primary School, Bochagari Bhuiyan Primary School, Bhati Kapasia Primary School, Dakshin Satgiri Private Primary School, Hainagar Fatekhan Private Primary School, Belka Private Primary School, Biswas Haldia Dhaner Vita Primary School, Charkhorda Namapara Private Primary School, Chachia Charkerhat Primary School, Chandpara Primary School, Charpurba Lalmar Primary School and Dakshin Shahraj (Matin Bazar) Private Primary School.
It can be seen on the ground, several schools including Bowali No. 1 Government Primary School, Dharmapur No. 1 Government Primary School, Shyamray Path Govt. Primary School, Bamanjal Govt. Primary School, Bowali No. 2 Govt. Primary School, Jigabari Primary School have not seen any scene of repair.
Dharmapur No. 1 Government Primary School Headmaster Md. Azharul Islam told CNBangladesh that two lakh taka have been allotted for the repair. Plans and applications have not yet been made.
Headmaster of Boali No. 1 Government Primary School. Anishur Rahman said that two lakh taka has been allotted to the school. I want cash or check. But not giving. If not, how can I start working? Masters don’t have extra money to work with that money. I will start work as soon as I get the check or money.
Shyamray Path Government Primary School Principal Md. Alamgir Hossain said that the allocation came at the end of the fiscal year for the minor repairs of the school. I submitted the resolution to the office as per the demand. We will start only after getting the estimate from the engineer office.
Bamanjal Government Primary School Principal deleted. Dinara Begum said, how can I work if I don’t get money? But the engineer came last Thursday. Hopefully, I can start working after a week.
Upazila President of Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association and Headmaster of Boali No. 2 Government Primary School. Jahedul Islam said, the work period ended on June 30. I haven’t started yet. Although this is an extreme irregularity, the allocated money has not been returned yet. However, I submitted the demand by resolution on August 2. As soon as we receive the check, we will start working.
Sundarganj upazila primary education officer said. When Anwarul Islam was contacted, he wanted to talk to the assistant education officers and give details about this. But later he did not give any information. Even when called on the mobile phone, he did not pick up the phone.

Sundarganj Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mohammad Noor-e-Alam told CNBangladesh that he came to know through you. I wanted to know why they didn’t work and if they didn’t, the allocation money or what they did by talking to the education officer. He wanted to give details about this.
Sundarganj Upazila Education Committee President and Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Ashraful Alam mentioned that the government has not embezzled the money of Lebu project and said that the allocation for the repair of 33 primary schools has come at the last moment. Therefore, the money has been withdrawn and deposited in the mother account of the Upazila Education Office. Estimates have already been given to the school. According to that, Assistant Upazila Education Officers will check and hand over the check.
