An audacious theft has taken place by spraying anesthetic at the residence of a police officer in Mahalul Sunam area of Shaistaganj municipality. In this incident, fear has arisen throughout Shaistaganj. Such incidents have happened in Shaistaganj several times before. But the police could not solve any mystery or arrest anyone. In the end, a theft-like incident happened at the police house.

Last Friday night, a group of miscreants of DB ASI Jewel Mia sprayed anesthetic in a rented house named Lakhai Villa in the area and rendered the residents unconscious. Later they (miscreants) entered by cutting the iron grill and stole mobile phones, cash and gold ornaments kept in the house. On receiving the news in the morning, Abdul Jalil, 2nd ward councilor of the municipality, along with the owner of the house, rescued DB member Jewel, his wife and child in an unconscious state and admitted them to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
On receiving the information, Additional Superintendent of Police of Habiganj Sadar Circle Khalilur Rahman, Police Station OC Md Nazmul Haque Kamal and Habiganj DB Police visited the spot. Earlier, miscreants stole 4 houses of Ward No. 8 and 2 houses of Ward No. 7 of Shaestaganj Municipality by spraying anesthetic.

After arriving at the hospital on Saturday morning, Jewel’s condition was alarming, so a group of police including Sadar OC (Investigation) Badiuzzaman went to the hospital and gave him advanced treatment. Currently, the condition of her child is critical. Superintendent of Police SM Murad Ali immediately inquired about them and directed the police to nab the miscreants.

Nazmul Haque Kamal, OC of Shaestaganj police station, told CNBangladesh that the police operation is continuing. The mystery will be revealed soon. However, some suspects are being interrogated.
