Local Truck-Mini Truck Owners Co-operative Societies Limited Distributed food items to 500 flood affected families in Bandarban.The Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Distributed these relief items to the flood victims present as the chief guest at Bandarban bus station area on Saturday (August 12) morning.
On behalf of Bandarban Local Local Truck-Mini Truck Owners Co-operative Societies Limited 500 workers were handed over 5 kg of rice by the Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP).
These food items were distributed as humanitarian aid under the overall supervision of the President of Local Truck-Mini Truck Owners Co-operative Societies Limited Amal Kanti Das.
Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Shah Alam,General Secretary of Bandarban Municipal Awami League and New Mayor Shamsul Islam,General Secretary of Grocer Shop Owners Cooperative Society Limited Bimal Kanti Das and various members of Bandarban Local Truck Mini Truck Owners Cooperative Society Limited and workers And their family members were present.
Earlier last Friday (August 11) Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Bandarban Unit distributed dry food and fresh water. Minister Bir Bahadur distributed these among the flood victims sheltered in the Cyclone Center shelter of Ward No.8 of Bandarban municipality.On Fryday Minister Bir Bahadur Rushed to various affected areas and extended a helping hand to the affected people by providing clean water,Dry food and cash as humanitarian aid.
According to the district administration, 15600 houses have been severely damaged due to heavy rains and floods.The agriculture sector has been severely affected.8253 hectare of crop land was submerged in flood.10 people have died due to floods and landslides.
