Gaibandha Representative/

A human chain program was held to demand the construction of a tunnel from Teestamukh Ghat to Bahadurabad Ghat along with rehabilitation of the abandoned railway line from Bonarpara to Teesta Mukh and Balasi in Gaibandhar Saghata.

On Thursday (August 10), Saghata-Phulchhari Development Organization organized this program at Ullya Bharatkhali of Saghata Upazila of Gaibandha.

Bharatkhali UP Chairman Farooq Hossain Mondal, Saghata-Phulchari Development Organization Advisor Shahadat Hossain Mondal, Organization President Hasan Mehedi Bidyut, Brave Freedom Fighter Mustafa Sardar, Bangladesh Works Party Gaibandha District Secretary Mandoli Member Masudur Rahman Masud, Saghata-Phulchari Development Organization General Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sarkar Mrinal, local Awami League leader Jahangir, Shafiul Alam Khokon etc.

The speakers said that the construction of railway bridge or tunnel along with road from Tistamukh Ghat to Bahadurabad Ghat is the demand of the people of Northern region. If a railway bridge or tunnel along with the road is built here, the communication of the people of the 8 districts of the northern region with the capital Dhaka will be easier. This will improve the fortunes of the people of the northern region.
