Russia attacked the territory of Ukraine overnight. Kiev claimed that 57 Russian missiles and drones were shot down. Turkey’s state news agency Anadolu Agency reported this information in a report on Sunday.
The report also said that the Air Force of Ukraine issued a statement on Telegram. It is mentioned that the Russian forces launched air and sea-based missile attacks from Saturday evening local time to Sunday morning. The country is also using Iranian drones.
The statement claimed that 12 of the missiles launched by Russia in the first round were shot down. In the second phase they continued the attack from the south-east. Kiev claimed that they shot down a total of 27 drones, 5 missiles and 13 cruise missiles.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on the international community to provide more military and political support to the country in response to overnight missile and drone attacks.
However, Russian authorities have not yet responded to Kiev’s claim. On the other hand, as the war continues, it is difficult to independently verify Ukraine’s claims.
