Former Tanti Dal leader and TCB dealer Alamgir Salim, a resident of RK Mission Road in Srimangal, Moulvibazar, protested against his political opponents involving him in drug cases and publishing false news against him.

TCB dealer Alamgir Salim Katrik said in a written speech at a press conference organized by TCB dealer Alamgir at Srimangal Press Club at 11 am on Sunday (July 6) that I was staying at my RK Mission Road residence at around 11 am on July 22, 2023. At that time, the police called me from home and sent me to the court showing that there is a drug case against me. Later I came to know from the case source that on the night of July 19, 2023, one Subhash Sheel’s son Mithun Sheel (32) was arrested by the police from in front of Chandranath Government Primary School on Mission Road in the city along with 15 pieces of yaba. It is mentioned in the statement that I ran away from the scene when I sensed the presence of the police.
Alamgir Salim Aro said in a written statement, if a criminal flees after realizing the presence of the police. That criminal is supposed to be in hiding. But the police called me from home and sent me to the court. He said, “I have no relation with Mitun Sheel, who was arrested along with Yaba.” I suspect that the opposition has arrested me on false charges to humiliate me politically and socially. After my arrest, one Timir Banik has published news against me on some of his online portals. As mentioned in the news, I have been selling Yaba under the cover of selling TCB products for a long time while avoiding the eyes of the law enforcement agencies. And I am selling TCB products all over the place on my own rather than running to specific people. And it is said that I was involved in the sale of yaba along with Mithun Sheel, who was arrested along with yaba by Srimangal Thana police on July 19. And fled on sensing the presence of the police. If I see the police and run away. But why did the police call me from my house and arrest me? A criminal will stay at home instead of hiding? Alamgir Salim also said that instead of using his single photo in the news of various online portals, the group photo taken with the local BNP leaders was purposefully used. However, Yakub Ali, the former general secretary of Upazila BNP, has been cropped in that picture. This means that BNP leaders are behind his arrest, he said. They said that they did this by using whale sharks. He said that he would take legal action against Timir Banik’s defamation.

In this regard, OC (Investigation) of Srimangal police station Aminul Islam said that on July 20, Mithun Sheel, a retail drug dealer, was arrested with drugs. Later, Mithun Sheel confesses that he has been buying Yaba tablets from Alamgir Salim for a long time. He said that he was arrested based on his confession. He also said that after the arrest, Alamgir Salim also admitted to the police that he was involved in this work.
