Journalist’s mobile phone and camera vandalized while recording video in the court premises

In Gaibandha, there was an incident of beating up the defendant who came to the court premises to prevent him from appearing. The camera and mobile phone of Asian Television’s Phulchari Upazila representative and Ambarta district representative Touhidur Rahman Tuhin were vandalized while performing professional duties while recording that video.
The incident took place on Thursday (August 3) at around 11:30 am in the front porch of the learned family judge’s court Phulchari Gaibandha.
The attack was carried out by Roshan Ara of Rasulpur village in Kanchipara union of Phulchhari upazila, the plaintiff’s advocate.
It is known that when the defendant of the family case No. 11/2023 Azadul Islam came to appear in the learned court, Roshan Ara along with his people first abused Azadul and his old parents in unspeakable language and beat Azadul out of the court premises.
When the matter came to the attention of Asian Television’s Phulchhari representative and Dainik Amar Barta’s district representative, Tuhin, when he tried to record the incident, Roshan Ara took away the camera and mobile phone from Tuhin and vandalized it.
Immediately after the incident, the National Emergency Service called 999 and immediately the police came and calmed down the situation and asked them to file a complaint at the police station.
The defendants were beaten and thrown out of the court premises after being prevented from appearing in the court, and when the journalist went to record the incident, he was attacked.
The people present at the scene said that the matter was illegal and sad and strongly protested and condemned the attack and demanded that those involved in the incident be brought under the law and punished.
Talking to journalist Tuhin about this, he said that the preparation of Mamala is going on.
