A human chain was held in front of Ganasas market today at 11 am on the initiative of Gaibandha Social Struggle Parishad to demand that load shedding and customer harassment should be removed by removing the low-voltage of the electricity, free examination and treatment of dengue patients in the district hospital.

The speakers said that the power problem has become dire, due to the lack of power, the irrigation work is being disrupted, the Aman rice production will not reach the target level, there may be a food crisis, not only that, but all the power-operated factories in the district such as tailors, jewellers, workshops, laundries, bakeries, photocopiers etc. Rickshaw van charging problem is brewing, as a result of which laborers’ income is reduced to half of their earnings, demanding immediate restoration of electricity system.
