Strict legal action to be taken against drug traffickers: Divisional Commissioner
Sylhet Bureau/
Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet NDC Abu Ahmad Siddique said that more or less drug abuse is observed in the whole world including Bangladesh. A concerted effort to combat drug abuse and trafficking is essential. To prevent drug abuse, resistance should be developed from family and society. Drug addiction is a social disease, it cannot be prevented by anyone alone. Everyone should come forward.
He also said that all the law enforcement agencies including the Narcotics Control Department should increase their capacity and take strict legal action against the drug traffickers using the latest technology. Our government’s necessary activities to prevent drug abuse and illegal trafficking are continuing. Along with enforcement of laws to eliminate drugs, social movement against drugs should be developed by creating widespread public awareness among the people. In this case, along with the government, various non-governmental organizations and people from all walks of life should come forward.
