A picture of Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the BNP’s standing committee, is doing the rounds on social media. He was taken to the DB office and entertained by the DB chief Harun Or Rashid after he was beaten up in the BNP program on Saturday. There has been a mixed reaction.

BNP leader Gayeshwar has opened up about this. He admitted to accepting entertainment.

One of the senior leaders of BNP said that the food arranged for him at the DB office was not suitable for his health. Apart from this, he also had doubts about this food. That’s why he didn’t take that food anymore.

He said, in view of the DB chief’s request and to maintain courtesy, I took a piece of light vegetables and rice fish from the food brought from home for Harun.

Gayeshwar said, DB chief requested me, the roe fish was brought from his home village Kishoreganj. And since the DB chief was eating the food himself, I thought – if I accept it, then there will be no problem.

However, this BNP leader commented that the incident of entertaining and spreading the video along with its pictures on various social media is a very shameful and hateful act.

He said that those who did this work are indicative of very low taste. A kind of funny drama. Does the government want to prove that we are happy? Eat by begging? In the language of the village it is called ‘Khaye Khota Dewa’. That is what was done to me in the DB office. Many people eat at different times in my house. It is a great honor for me. But will I spread the picture of this food through various social media? Will it be good for me?

Gayeshwar expressed his conviction that no inducement from the government can buy Gayeshwar. The government does not have enough money to buy Gayeshwar. The government can arrest, even take life – this power belongs to the government. But Gayeshwar cannot be bought.

He said, “My prayer to God is to see the downfall of this government before climbing the pyre.”
