A bomb attack took place at a conference of Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s party Jamiat Ulama Islam-Fazal (JUE-F) in Pakistan. At least 35 people were killed and more than 200 were injured. The death toll is expected to rise.

The attack took place in Bajuar division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa around 4 pm on Sunday. Bajua Division Emergency Officer Saad Khan said that Maulana Ziaullah, an important leader of the party, lost his life in this attack. The injured are being taken to hospitals in Peshawar and Timargera. News from Jio News.

Television footage showed several ambulances arriving shortly after the attack. Police have stopped public movement at the scene and nearby areas.

Hafiz Hamdullah, a senior leader of JUE-F, told Pakistani media Geo News that he was also supposed to attend the conference. But could not go for personal reasons. He condemned the attack and demanded that the culprits be brought to justice.

Hajif Hamdullah also said that their party workers have been attacked before. He claimed that no action was taken even after raising the issue in the Parliament.
