Complaints about housing project development in Rupganj

It has been alleged that a housing project called Fortis is being built without buying more than 100 bigha of the 300 bigha of farmers’ land in Bagber, Kearia and Gutiabo Mouja of Sadar Union of Rupganj Upazila. With the help of local influencers and terrorists, they are taking possession of the three crop lands of the farmers day by day. Landowners are being held hostage by showing police influence, fear of arrest and threat of lawsuits. Protesting the misdeeds of the housing project is being harassed by the police. Rupganj Thana Police is mysteriously tarnishing the image of the current government and police by favoring this illegal housing project.
Threatened by the police and terrorists engaged in housing projects, none of the farmers dare to open their mouths to protest. Intimidation attacks and lawsuits are being filed only if you protest. It is also alleged that the farmers are not getting satisfactory redressal from the police despite seeking the cooperation of the Thana police.
Advocate Mostafizur Rahman Sukkur Mahmud, the land owner of Bagber area, said, “Fortis Group has been filling our land with sand on four and a half bigha land. They are trying to seize our three crop lands by forcibly constructing a boundary wall on the land. Houses built on our land are being threatened and threatened to be demolished and set on fire. They are harassing us with police. Fortis Housing Scheme.”
He demanded proper investigation and necessary measures against illegal activities.
The manager of Fortis housing project said that during the filling of sand in our purchased land, sand has gone to some of the surrounding lands. We will remove sand from farmers’ land.
AFM Syed, OC of Rupganj police station, said that the illegal occupants will not be exempted no matter how influential they are.

In order to undermine the image of the current government in the upcoming elections, a gang of police and housing projects is forcibly occupying the land of farmers without buying it. Illegal activities of housing projects will not be allowed under any circumstances. With the help of the administration, the land of the farmers should be returned to them.
