U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the country has recaptured 50 percent of the territory occupied by Russia in Ukraine.

He gave this information in an interview with CNN on Monday.

Anthony Blinken said, “Ukraine’s anti-Russian counteroffensive will be extended for several months. About 50 percent of the land that was initially occupied has already been reclaimed.

He said, “The initial period of comparative counterattack is still going on.” It’s very hard work. It will not be finalized in the next week or two. I think we are still looking at a few months.

Meanwhile, hopes that Ukraine could soon push Moscow’s military out of Kiev territory after launching a summer counteroffensive are fading. Because, Ukrainian soldiers are struggling to fight with Russian soldiers in the south and east of the country.

On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the attack on Ukraine has failed.

Last February, the Russian president ordered a special military operation in Ukraine. Now, after the Ukrainian troops launched a counterattack last month, Putin claimed, “26,000 Ukrainian soldiers died in the anti-Russian counterattack.”

In addition, the Russian President said that in the last 24 hours, as many as 15 Leopard tanks and more than 20 Bradley tanks have been destroyed.

However, Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the Russian claim. On the other hand, due to the ongoing war, the veracity of their claims could not be independently verified.
