In the markets of Habiganj Sadar, besides vegetables, the prices of farmed fish are sky high. Some native species of fish are almost extinct. On the other hand, many people are suffering from various diseases by buying these farmed fish at exorbitant prices. Especially that hilsa fish was 500 to 1000 taka 15 days ago, yesterday Friday from 800 taka to 2000 taka, pangas fish from 100 taka to 200 taka, carpo fish from 200 taka to 350 taka, tilapia from 150 to 220 taka, roe fish from 200 to 400-500 taka, farmed koi fish from 150 taka to 300 taka per kg. In this way, more than 100 to 150 taka is being taken for different species of fish. Besides, there are allegations that a class of businessmen take money by giving less than 50 to 100 grams per kg. In such a situation of the market, the people of the middle class families are in extreme trouble.

On the surface, various markets including Shaistanagar, Chowdhury Bazar can be seen, not only the price of fish has increased, but also the prices of various types of vegetables have increased. Buyers have demanded market monitoring in this regard.
