Russia has shot down 28 drones one by one in the Russian occupied Crimea peninsula of Ukraine. All 28 of these drones are from Ukraine and were shot down overnight.

Russian forces shot down 28 Ukrainian drones overnight in Crimea, the Russian Defense Ministry and a local official said on Tuesday, AFP reported.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that 17 drones sent by Ukrainian forces were “destroyed” in the dead of night and another 11 were “suppressed” electronically. It has been reported that there was no casualty or damage.

In addition, the Russian-appointed governor of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, also said in a telegram that 28 drones were shot down or destroyed overnight. He also said that there were no casualties.

In February 2022, Russia launched an all-out invasion of Ukraine. Since then the conflict has been going on for more than 500 days. But Ukraine launched a counter-offensive last month to free its internationally recognized territory from Russia. Drone attacks in Crimea have increased in recent weeks after Ukraine began retaliating against Russian forces.

In 2014, Russia seized the island of Crimea from Ukraine in a military operation. However, most of the countries of the world did not recognize this occupation of Moscow.

Kiev has repeatedly said it plans to take back the peninsula. In this situation, the Ukrainian attack on Europe’s largest road and rail bridge connecting the Crimea peninsula with Russia took place early Monday morning.

Two civilians were killed and their children injured in the Ukrainian attack. Ukraine, however, has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack. However, Russia blamed Ukraine for the attack.

And after that, Russia shot down 28 Ukrainian drones in one night.
