‘Heat stroke’ warning issued in 20 prefectures of Japan

People in Asia, European countries and the United States have been having a rough day since the last few days due to the continued severe heat wave. Temperatures in these regions are predicted to reach alarming levels. Meanwhile, 20 out of 47 prefectures in Japan have issued a ‘heat stroke’ warning. News from The Japan Times

According to the report, the temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) was recorded in some other areas including the country’s capital Tokyo on Sunday. Such temperature is life threatening.

Some parts of Japan recorded their highest temperatures in four decades yesterday. On this day, the temperature in Hirono city of Fukushima was 37.3 degrees Celsius.

The US National Weather Service says the intensity of wildfires may increase in southern and western states.

Meanwhile, fires have broken out in many parts of southern California. Residents of these areas have been advised to evacuate to safety as soon as possible.

On the other hand, red alert has been issued in 16 cities of Italy as severe heat wave continues in the southern part of Europe.

According to the warning, even healthy people can get sick due to excessive heat waves. For this reason, the warning has been issued in the tourist hotspots including Rome, Florence and Bologna, the capital of Italy, for the next few days.
