Dhaka-17 Constituency by-election is a ‘funny election’: Ahmed Azam
Dhaka/
Vice Chairman of BNP Ahmed Azam Khan has commented that the by-election of Dhaka-17 seat is a ‘joke election’.
He said, a video has gone viral on Facebook. There Awami League candidate Mohammad A Arafat is saying – Even if I vote, I am an MP, even if I don’t vote, I am an MP. People do not want such a farce election. They want to elect representatives of their choice by voting themselves. This is why BNP is agitating.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a stand program organized by the Trinamool Citizen Movement in front of the National Press Club on Monday. This program was held in protest of the attack on the march of farmers and laborers demanding the implementation of one round.
Ahmed Azam Khan said that the government is again conspiring to stay in power by electing a farce. I will tell the government to resign. Otherwise, the people will resist the joke election. You will be swept away by the tide of agitation, finding no escape.
He said that all political parties are united today along with the people to demand fair and impartial elections. The democratic world also wants a free, fair, impartial and participatory election in Bangladesh.
Kari Abu Taher, the chairman of NDP, the partner party of the joint movement, said, “You don’t have much time.” Give the people power back to the people by resigning very quickly. Otherwise the people will force you to resign.
