The court sentenced three people to 14 yearsimprisonment in a case of Explosives Act in Chapainawabganj. Judge of the districtand session Judge-2nd Court Gopal Chandra Roy announced the verdict on Monday.At that time, the accused were present in the court.The convicts are – the deceased of Swarupnagar of Chapainawabganj MunicipalArea Mohammad Ali (67) son of Afsaruzzaman, Rabiul Alam Rubel (43) son of AbdusSalam and Abul Kalam Azad (43) son of Abdul Hamid of Lakherajpara in the city.APP Md. Shafiqul Islam (Milan) said that in 2014,based on secret information, a team of RAB-5, Chapainawabganj camp raided theupazila parishad market of Swarupnagar in the city. From there in two separatebags17 cocktails and 4 kg 600 grams of gunpowder recovered.At that time Mohammad Ali, Rabiul Alam Rubel andAbul Kalam Azad were arrested.The next day, RAB Naik Subedar Kazi Abdul Bashedfiled a case at Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station as the plaintiff.In the statement of the case, he mentioned that thearrestees had stockpiled cocktails and gunpowder to create havoc and disorder.On February 24, 2014, the police filed a chargesheet in the court in that case. Then the trial started in the court. The courtaccepted the testimony of 9 people in the case.
