Awami League’s base among the people has collapsed: Rizvi
Dhaka/
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the party’s senior joint secretary general, alleged that the administration was brought down to disrupt the BNP rally.
He made this complaint in a press conference at BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Tuesday night.
Rizvi said, the foundation of Awami League has collapsed among the people. So they are using propaganda as a weapon. This baseless false statement has been made to dampen the enthusiasm generated among the people of Dhaka over Wednesday’s rally. This fabricated statement was made and released to the media to divert people’s attention from Wednesday’s rally through various agencies of the government. Having failed in various attempts to thwart the assembly, they have now resorted to deception.
“In the meantime, we have received information that ‘nonsense’ activities are being carried out behind the scenes so that there is no large crowd in the rally on Wednesday. They are threatening bus and truck owners in various ways. Bus owners are returning the advance money. This means that the administration has been brought down to disrupt the rally. But no obstacle can stop the march of people. Undoubtedly, Nayapaltan area will become a sea of people tomorrow.
Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP said extensive preparations have been made to make the peaceful rally a success. People will flock to the rally demanding the resignation of the government and a non-partisan caretaker government, this rally will be historic.
He said that a fake notification has been circulated in different media including social media using BNP’s pad. It has been said that the BNP rally will be held tomorrow on Saturday, July 22 instead of Wednesday, July 12. “The parties in the simultaneous movement will hold a rally from their respective positions to demand elections under a non-partisan neutral government” – which is completely untrue, misleading and just an attempt to create doubt in the public mind. Various organizations of the government are running this misinformation about the rally in a well-planned manner.
He said that the statement given by showing the signatures of me and Syed Imran Saleh Prince is a total fraud. I clearly want to tell you again that tomorrow, July 12, BNP rally will be held in front of BNP central office at Nayapaltan at 2 pm. I strongly believe people will not be misled by any kind of propaganda. Fearing the program of BNP and like-minded parties, the government is running this propaganda.
BNP Chairperson’s special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, executive committee members Aminul Islam, Abdus Sattar Patwari, BNP leader Imtiaz Bakul and others were present at the press conference.
