On July 10, Monday around 10:30 am, a bloody clash took place in Hasnabaz village of Joykals Union of Shanti Ganj Upazila.  Those killed in the clash are – Abdus Sufi’s son of Deen Islam party.  Babul Mia (50), Abdul Latif’s son Nurul Islam (42) and Junab Ali’s son Abdul Bashit of the same village.  Shah Jahan (36). According to local and police sources, a person donated a jackfruit to the Hasnabaz village mosque.  In the presence of the villagers in the mosque, the jackal was auctioned and the price was raised.  When the people in favor of Deen Islam of the village raised their voices saying that they could not hear the price, the opponents Sunu Mia and Junab Ali Gongra of the same village came up and asked why you could not hear even though everyone inside the mosque could hear it. Due to this in the morning people of Deen Islam clashed with the people of opponent Sunu Mia and Junab Ali with native weapons.  Babul Mia (50) and Nurul Islam (42) from the side of Deen Islam were killed on the spot and Sunu Mia and Junab Ali were killed.  Shahjahan Mia died on the way to Sunamganj District Sadar Hospital with serious injuries. In this regard, the Chairman of Joykals Union Parishad.  Abdul Bachit Sujan said, “Yesterday Sunday night and today morning – I went to Hasnabaz village and talked to the people of both sides separately. The people of both sides assured me that neither side will go to fight. In view of such assurance, they were calmed down in the Upazila Parishad meeting.  After I left, I heard both sides clashed. Such an unexpected incident with a jackal is very sad.” Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shantiganj police station Mohammad Khaled Chowdhury confirmed the truth of the incident and said, “On receiving the news, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
