The police recovered the hanging body of a youth named Shahed Ali (30) in Gobindganj Upazila of Gaibandha. The police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for post-mortem after receiving information on Tuesday (June 27).

Shahed Ali is the son of Tofazzal Hossain of Mukundpur Kanaipara village of Kochashahar Union of Upazila.

Confirming this information, Kochashahar Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Zahurul Haque Zahid said that Shahed was suffering from mental illness for a long time. He is believed to have hanged himself when everyone in the house fell asleep.

Gobindganj Police Inspector (Investigation) Bulbul Islam said that Shahed’s hanging body was recovered after receiving information. His death is under investigation.
