Elections will be held as per the constitution: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘When the time for national elections, it will happen. According to the constitution, the election will be held when it is supposed to be held.
He said this in response to a question at a press conference about his recent visit to Switzerland. The press conference was held at Ganabhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister on Wednesday afternoon.
Press conference Sheikh Hasina said, “Through many sacrifices, many movements struggle, with a lot of blood, but I have continued a democratic trend.” And because this democratic trend continues, the country has progressed.
He said, ‘Covid-19 has put pressure on the economy. Because then there was a global economic recession. Then the death blow is the Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions, counter-sanctions. As a result, the price of everything has gone up. Not only in our country, it has increased worldwide. This unrest is going on all over the world. And Bangladesh – a large population in a small territory. We have to provide food, shelter, medical care, education to 17 crore people.
The Prime Minister said, “Compared to our population, our agricultural land is limited. Still we have ensured food security by producing food.
He said, ‘We were able to do what we had in our hands. But the prices of the things that have to be imported have gone up. Transportation costs have increased. Whose injury is coming upon us. Still, we are taking appropriate measures so that the people of our country do not suffer. In such a situation, it is normal to talk about the election of the country individually.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to Geneva, Switzerland on a four-day visit on June 13. He returned home on June 17 after attending the World of Work Summit: Social Justice for All held on June 14 and 15.
In Switzerland, various organizations including the United Nations and important officials of the country met the Prime Minister.
