The government is once again trying to steal votes: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that there will be no vote if the current government is in power. He said that the government is again trying to steal votes.

Fakhrul said that the people want to elect representatives with their votes. But it is not possible if the current ruling group Awami League is in power. That’s why I said, I want elections under a non-partisan neutral government. So that people can vote in that election. can elect their representatives. Without an impartial government, there will be no vote.

He said these things at a function on the occasion of the first anniversary of BNP Media Cell at a hotel in Gulshan of the capital on Tuesday afternoon. It presents information about the activities of the media cell for one year.

Mirza Fakhrul said, those political parties who believe in democratic politics and independence of Bangladesh have come together today. Simultaneous movement. The goal is the same, to restore democracy. I want to bring back democracy. I want to establish human rights. It is never important that we want to bring BNP to power here. The main thing is to establish human rights. What I dreamed in 1971, I promised the people.

Mentioning the role of BNP Media Cell as very important, BNP Secretary General said, ‘Since the mainstream media is not able to work independently – this is also a big challenge. The media has been controlled in this country by various strategies.

Mirza Fakhrul pointed out the government’s various repressive activities including the closure of various media, newspapers and magazines under the control of the media since Awami League came to power, torture of journalists, sending journalists to jail under the Digital Security Act, not investigating the murder of the journalist couple Sagar-Rooney.

Teachers of various universities, doctors, lawyers and professional leaders, diplomats of some countries including USA, France, Germany, Denmark were also present in this event.

Also, Jatiya Party (Kazi Jafar) Mustafa Jamal Haider, Citizens’ Unity Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Kalyan Party’s Major General (retd.) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, Mass Solidarity Movement’s Jonaid Saki, NPP’s Dr. Leaders of various political parties including Fariduzzaman Farhad, Jagpar Khandkar Lutfar Rahman, Syed Ehsanul Huda of National Party were also there.
