Voting in the Sylhet City Corporation (SISIC) elections will be held tomorrow, Wednesday. Voters will have to suffer in hostile weather. They have to come to the polling station despite the rain. Because the continuous rains of the last few days have disrupted the election campaign.

Meanwhile, the process of delivering voting materials to 190 centers started on Tuesday morning. However, due to rain it is slightly delayed. In the afternoon, the Election Commission distributed voting equipment in the field of Abul Mal Abdul Muhit Sports Complex in the city. It is also expected that it may take late night for the election materials to reach all the centres. On the other hand, several centers are in danger. The voters of these centers are deeply worried about it.

However, the returning officer Faisal Qadir said that the process of delivering voting materials to the center has started. It will reach all centers on time. He said that all preparations have been completed to organize peaceful polls. The center will have five levels of security with Police, RAB, BGB, Ansar and Armed Police.

Meanwhile, there is a risk of water rising in various polling stations in the lower areas of the city due to rain and rising water. If the rain continues like this, there is a possibility of waterlogging.

In the Sylhet City Corporation elections held on Wednesday, voting will be held in EVMs in 190 centers in 42 wards including 15 wards. This time the voters are 487 thousand 753 people. There will be two and a half thousand policemen, 51 mobile teams, 15 striking forces, six reserve forces in the field for the purpose of fair elections.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner Ilyach Sharif said that their special team will be in the field in the city elections. Arrangements have been made to install CC cameras along with check posts at important places.
