Child dies, 7 injured in Srimangal lightning strike

In Srimangal of Moulvibazar, one child died and 7 people were injured in different places of the upazila.
On Friday (June 16), a child laborer working in a local plastic factory died in Bhunbir Chaumuhani area of Bhunbir Union of the upazila.
The name of the deceased child is Eamon Mia (12). He said that village. Malek is Mia’s son.
Onlookers said that Eman Mia was seriously injured in a sudden lightning strike during the rain. When the seriously injured Eamon was taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
Dr. Srimangal Upazila Hospital Medical Officer. Nazmul Hasan said, ‘A child named Imon was brought dead from Bhunbir area to the hospital by the locals.

The injured are Ziaur Rahman (11) of Paschim Kharyaura of Srimangal upazila, Yarun Akter (30) of Shahjanpur area of Ashidron union, Dayal Chasha (24) of Udanachra tea garden in Rajghat union, Kirtan Tatta Roy (25), Rana Patnaik (24), Sajib Kurmi (24). 20), Asim Chasha (27). The injured are undergoing treatment at Srimangal and Moulvibazar Sadar Hospitals.
