Two girlfriends named Lia Khatun (18) and Hima Khatun (17) of Gobindganj Upazila of Gaibandha have gone missing. Even after 15 days of this incident, their relatives have not found them. Two separate general diaries (GD) have been filed in the police station in this incident.

It has been found that Lia Khatun, daughter of Babu Mia of South Chaigharia (Pachpara) village of Kochahar Union of Gobindganj Upazila and Hima Khatun, daughter of Abdul Hamid Mia of Singa village, were candidates for SSC examination from the local Chaigharia Bimukhi High School.

On May 31, after the examination from Mahimaganj center, along with a few girlfriends, they left for home in an autovan. Then at the end of the day, when the evening comes, they do not reach home and the parents get worried. Then they started looking for their classmates’ houses. Later, relatives were searched in various places. Two general diaries were filed separately at the police station on June 2 from the families of Hima Khatun and Lia Khatun without finding them anywhere.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindganj Police Station Izar Uddin said that there have been two GDs regarding the disappearance. However, the investigation into their rescue is continuing.
