“Environment and neighborhood threatened by eviction of tribals”

Metropolitan University Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Haque said, “Indigenous people are the cruel and innocent victims of global climate change. Due to the eviction of tribals from the land, the environment and environment are facing threats.

The tribal youth and the educated generation should be aware of the activities that destroy the environment in their respective areas. Technologies and technologies are needed to address the risks of global climate change. Indigenous youth like the mainstream must simultaneously prepare to face the challenges of climate change and the 4th industrial revolution.”

In the speech of the chief guest at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the ‘National Indigenous Youth Conference’ held at Jeheen Ahmad Auditorium of Sylhet FIVDB on Saturday afternoon, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Haq said the above words.

Kapeng Foundation Executive Director Pallab Chakma presided over the closing ceremony as special guests – Sylhet CID Special Superintendent of Police Sujyan Chakma and Pascop Executive Director Gauranga Patra.
Organized by Kapeng Foundation with the theme of ‘Future Connection Inclusive Society and Green Climate’ and with the overall support of PASCOP, Pawanka Fund ALRD and Australia Awards Bangladesh Alumni Support Grant, the three-day national conference was attended as the Chief Guest on June 8- Human rights activist Sultana Kamal is an adviser to the former caretaker government. Special guests were – Chakma Circle Chief Barrister Raja Debashish Roy, ALRD Executive Director Shamsul Huda, Professor of International Relations Department. Tanjimuddin Khan, Country Manager of Australia Award Office Bangladesh. Tahmina Rashid.

It should be noted that 45 young people studying in different universities from 21 tribal communities living in Bangladesh participated in the conference.
