World Environment Day 2023 was celebrated in Moulvibazar with colorful rally, discussion meeting and tree plantation program.
A colorful rally was taken out in front of the district collectorate building jointly organized by the district administration and environment department on Monday (June 5) morning. Later, a discussion session was held on the occasion of Environment Day 2023 in Shilpakala hall room. The Deputy Commissioner of Moulvibazar was present as the chief guest at the meeting. Deputy Director of Local Government Mallika Dey, Chairman of Zilla Parishad Alhaj Michbahur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Ops) Sudarshan Kumar Roy, Assistant Director of Department of Environment Md Moidul Islam were present as special guests. Public and private officials, employees and students of schools and colleges and others were present in the rally and discussion meeting. Also, World Environment Day 2023 was celebrated in Srimangal Upazila of the district. In the morning, a tree plantation, procession and discussion meeting was held at Srimangal Municipality premises under the initiative of the Srimangal Upazila branch of the environmental organization Hill Protection and Development Society. Under the chairmanship of Saharab Islam Ruhin and moderated by general secretary Biplab Bhattacharya, the mayor of Srimangal Municipality spoke as the chief guest. Mohsin Mia Madhu.
