Sylhet City Corporation election mayor candidates have been banned. The Election Commission banned this symbol among the candidates on Friday around 12 noon.

7 candidates are competing for the post of mayor in the Sylhet city elections. They are the nominated candidates of Awami League. Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Jatiya Party’s nominated candidate Nazrul Islam Babul, Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s nominated candidate Hafez Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, Zaker Party’s Md. Zahirul Alam, independent candidate Mohammad Abdul Hanif Kutu, independent candidate Md. Chalah Uddin Rimon and independent candidate. Shah Jahan Mia.

Among them, Awami League’s Md. as a symbol of the party’s 4 candidates. Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury boat symbol, Jatiya Party nominated candidate Nazrul Islam Babul plow symbol, Islami Andolan Bangladesh nominated candidate Hafez Maulana Mahmudul Hasan palm symbol and Zaker Party Md. Zahirul Alam got party symbol rose flower symbol.

Apart from this, individual Mohammad Abdul Hanif Kutu got a horse, Md. Chalah Uddin Rimon received a cricket bat and Md. Shahjahan Mia got bus car symbol.

After the allotment of symbols, the official promotion campaign begins. Voting will be held in EVM in Sylhet City Corporation on June 21.
