World No Tobacco Day is celebrated in Srimangal

World No Tobacco Day was celebrated at Srimangal in Moulvibazar with the theme ‘Grow food, not tobacco’ to raise awareness about the opportunities of alternative food crop production and marketing and to encourage tobacco farmers to cultivate sustainable and nutritious crops.
On Wednesday (May 31) at 11 am, a colorful rally and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day.
Organized by Upazila Administration and Upazila Family Planning Department, a colorful rally was taken out from the Upazila Parishad premises. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad conference room.
Srimangal Upazila Parishad Chairman Bhanulal Roy was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting presided over by Srimangal Upazila Executive Officer Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun.
Upazila family planning officer was present as a special guest. Md. Sajjad Hossain Chowdhury, Officer-in-charge of Srimangal Thana Jahangir Hossain Sardar, Assistant Commissioner (ACland) Sandhip Talukder, District Additional Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Directorate, Agronomist Nilufar Yasmin Monalisa Sweety, President of BMA Srimangal Upazila Branch Dr. Haripad Roy, Upazila Social Service Officer Sueb Hossain Chowdhury, Project Implementation Officer Md. Asaduzzaman, Youth Development Officer Asim Kar, Upazila Engineer Md. Yuchup Hossain Khan, Mirzapur Union Parishad Chairman Michlu Ahmed Chowdhury, Administrative Officer Mrinal Kanti Dash and others.
Various NGO officials and representatives of social organizations were also present.
