Uncle Siraj Uddin (75) died after being seriously injured in an attack by nephews during an arbitration meeting in Golapganj, Sylhet. He died at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment around 2.30 am on Tuesday.
Golapganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Suman Chandra Sarkar confirmed the death.

The deceased Siraj Uddin was a resident of Chowghari Ekaduma village of Sadar Union of Golapganj Upazila.

According to local sources, Siraj Uddin was seriously injured when his nephews attacked him during an argument during the arbitration meeting regarding the land dispute. He was taken to Osmani Medical College Hospital in a critical condition and died on Tuesday around 2.30 am while undergoing treatment. In this incident, Siraj Uddin’s son Zakir Ahmad filed a case at the police station accusing his two cousins as the plaintiff.

Golapganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Suman Chandra Sarkar said that one accused in the case has been arrested. Efforts are on to arrest the other person.
