It pains us to see some of your (journalistic) fellow colleagues who casually support the repression of journalists, he complained. They try to cover up the misdeeds of the government by arguing various arguments. In this situation, if you don’t protest, if you don’t stand up, if you don’t speak up, you can’t get any demand.
He made this comment in the speech of the chief guest at the biennial work session of a section of the Dhaka Journalist Union (DUJ) on Wednesday (May 31). At that time Jamaat leader Abdul Halim, former president of BFUJ Ruhul Amin Gazi, journalist leader Hai Shikdar, Shah Nawaz Ali, MA Aziz, Kamal Uddin Sabuj, Syed Abdal Ahmed, M Abdullah, Shahidul Islam and others were present under the chairmanship of DUZ President Quader Gani Chowdhury. The Secretary General of BNP gave awards to journalist leaders at this time.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the government is playing the same old game again. jumping more The cases that happened during the 1/11 government have been withdrawn and dismissed. And the cases of the opposition have been left. Now we are being sentenced again in that case. It has a limit.
Mirza Fakhrul said, there is no such thing as independent journalism in Bangladesh. I have been talking about something for a long time. It’s not that words didn’t work, words worked. Finally came to a place. Before we who were the victims only screamed. Journalists are many victims, some of their writings were printed, some writings were not printed. Today the entire issue has admitted that there is no place for independent journalism in Bangladesh.
He also said that it pains us when we see some of your colleagues (journalists) who support the suppression of journalists. It’s true, if you don’t protest, if you don’t stand up, if you don’t speak up, you can’t get any demand.
Commenting that if the Awami League government is in power, then the people of the country will not be able to express their opinions, the BNP Secretary General said that if the Awami League is in power, the people will not get back their voting rights, they will not be able to vote. There is no doubt about it. It’s not just me. It has become everyone’s talk. There will never be acceptable and fair elections under the current government.
Regarding the visa policy, he said that many people in the ruling party are enjoying it. They say that the visa policy did not mention participatory elections. What a strange logic! They are happy, they say participatory elections are not discussed. But our constitution will not be acceptable without participatory elections. They have to be fought against, defeated.
After 50-52 years, Mirza Fakhrul said that more remittances are coming from the United States. But those who live in the United States never come and invest in the country. don’t invest If necessary, they sell the houses here. Now coming back! Why? who stole Those who have smuggled thousands of crores of rupees. They are bringing them to the country in the form of remittances. It is announced to give them two and a half percent incentives.
There is no use in fear now Mirza Fakhrul said warning, there is no use in fear. Now we have to come out because of survival because of existence. Conquer the fear, defeat them. Democratic governance should be established. Where journalists can write. There will be no digital security laws. Where journalists will not be arrested with false cases.
