Commenting that America cannot stop the elections with sanctions, Nurul Islam Nahid, a member of the advisory council of Awami League and president of the standing committee of the Ministry of Local Government, said that our country runs on the constitution, according to the verdict of the people. US bans will do nothing here. He said that while the country is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the BNP-Jamaat is carrying out anti-national conspiracies at home and abroad.

He said these things in response to questions from journalists before the mass rally held in his constituency Golapganj municipality on Tuesday (May 30) afternoon.

This rally was held in Golapganj town to protest the anti-national activities of BNP Jamaat.

He said that people will bring Awami League back to power due to the development of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Because of that fear, BNP will not come to the election. Moreover, the leaders and activists of Awami League and organizations in her area are showing the development of Sheikh Hasina to the people from house to house.

Regarding the preparation of the list of administration and Awami League leaders by BNP, he said, BNP has been showing various conspiracies and intimidation. Call them (BNP) to leave these and participate in the elections democratically.

Nurul Islam Nahid said in the speech of the chief guest at the protest rally after the mass rally at the Upazila Sadar that when the world leaders consider Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s development philosophy as a model, they are not tolerating it. They want the country to return to the Pakistani way of thinking. But the patriotic crowd will never let that happen.

He also said that there were many MPs in Sylhet before me. As much progress has been made since he was elected, you can judge whether anyone has made such progress before. And this development is due to the foresight of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Therefore, he urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League to be brought to power by re-voting in the next election.
