On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman receiving the ‘Julio Curie’ peace medal, a discussion, cultural program and quiz competition were held at Srimangal.

On Sunday (May 28) at 3 pm in the hall room of Srimangal Victoria High School, a discussion meeting was held under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ali Rajib Mahmud Mithun and moderated by Victoria High School teacher Sudhendu Bhattacharya.

Dr. Abdus Shahid, Member of Parliament of Moulvibazar-4 Constituency, was virtually present as the chief guest. Srimangal Upazila Parishad Chairman Bhanulal Roy, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sandeep Talukdar, Srimangal Thana Police Inspector (Investigation) Aminul Islam, Srimangal Upazila Awami League President Ardhendu Kumar Deb, Vice-President Dr. Haripad Roy, Secondary Education Officer Dilip Kumar Vardhan, Primary Education Officer (Acting) Jyetish Ranjan Das, Srimangal Upazila Primary Teachers Association President Zahar Tarpadar, Srimangal Upazila Awami League Cultural Secretary Sushil Sheel, Victoria High School Principal Ayan Chowdhury, Public Health Engineer Saiful Islam, President of Srimangal Upazila Fishermen’s League Ashikur Rahman Ashiq, leaders of various levels of Awami League and allied organizations and school teachers were present. Earlier, 9 schools of the upazila participated in the quiz competition. Victoria High School stood 1st, Srimangal Government Girls High School 2nd and Budd’s School & College 3rd.
