In Gobindganj, Gaibandhar, there has been a complaint of robbery of Tk 14 lakh from the vault by tying up the night watchman of the Rajshahi Agricultural Development Bank (Rakab) Kochashahr branch.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindganj Police Station Izar Uddin confirmed the matter on Sunday (May 28) around 9 pm. He said that as the incident seems mysterious, the branch’s night watchman Jewel Mia is being interrogated. No one has been arrested or prosecuted so far.

Earlier, the night watchman alleged that the incident took place at the bank branch on Saturday (May 28).

Bank branch manager Jasmin Akhtar said, like every day, I closed the vault and went home on Saturday (May 28). I came to the bank in the morning and learned about the robbery from the night watchman. The matter was immediately reported to the police.

Gaibandhar Senior Superintendent of Police Uday Kumar Saha, Chairman of Gobindganj Upazila Parishad Abdul Latif Pradhan and Upazila Executive Officer Md. He also said that Arif Hossain visited the spot.

The night watchman of the bank, Jewel Mia, said that late at night, a group of robbers cleverly unlocked the gate of the bank and entered and tied his hands and feet. After that, they unlocked the vault and looted about 14 lakh taka.
