In Sylhet, it has been reported that the accused uncle was arrested in the plot of raping the brother-in-law and the maid. One brother of Ati Adar’s three sisters was Hara Dhan Purakayastha. But he could never understand the cruel irony of fate and finally he has to go to jail in the maid rape case. That too on the charge of rape of the maid in elder sister Anita Purkayastha’s house.

According to the search, the housemaid who has been accused of rape against Hara Dhan lives in the residence of her elder sister Anita in Nurpur of Islampur Majortila of Shahparan (reh.) police station area. Although mysterious, the true rape scene is shown in a room of Haradhan’s rented house in Mirzajangal area. On the day and date of the incident like other days, she was living happily in that house with her second sister Anjali and her sister-in-law Milan Dey. Anjali is a mother of two children but one daughter is living in America and the son is studying in Canada. For that reason, he has been living in the same house for a long time with his wife, second sister and sister-in-law in that rented house. Hara Dhan’s family runs on the donation of this sister. Hara Dhan’s wife Neelima was at her father’s house in Srimangal on the day and night of the incident. After hearing the news of the unfortunate incident, Chuth came to her husband’s house on May 26. The police officer rushed to the police station but it did not work.

According to the locals, after the death of Ratnamoy Purkayastha, the husband of her elder sister Anita Purkayastha, they were living in Majortila’s Noorpur house with one son Abhi Purkayastha, two daughters Tifa and Trincha. About 10-12 years ago, Hara Dhan sent his elder sister’s son Abhi Purkayastha to London on his own initiative while fulfilling his uncle’s duties. In the meantime, Anita’s family suffered a great loss. Two nieces fall in love. Since then, the distance between elder sister and her nephew’s family was created. That distance became even closer with cousin Abhi’s marriage. Haradhan, being his uncle, did not agree to that marriage. Recently, the expatriate brother-in-law Abhi came to Bangladesh from India and settled in Nurpur with his wife. From there, the plot was to punish him with that paternal uncle Haradhan. Finally, he resorted to tricks and made the housekeeper in his house a “card doll” and went to jail for a staged rape drama. This has been confirmed by the rapist’s wife Neelima and her second sister along with her sister’s brother-in-law.

The rapist’s wife Neelima told the reporter in a tearful voice that Abhi was once involved with the BNP-Jamaat Panthi political group in Sylhet’s Mirabazar area. There is also a lawsuit against him. The uncle who sent him abroad came to the country and caught my husband in a trap of rape. He sought the attention of the higher authorities of the administration to carry out proper investigation against the criminals involved in such heinous conspiracy. He also demanded a DNA test.

Meanwhile, on Saturday (May 27), a dish was found hanging on the door of Nurpur’s house. Locals told the reporter that no one can tell where Abhi and his family are with the maid at present.

When I contacted the officer in charge of Kotwali police station to inquire about this, he cut the connection because he was busy. On the other hand, no contact could be made with Abhi despite several attempts.

It is to be noted that Haradhan, son of Digendra Dhar of Swapneel house number 30, Mirzajangal Ramerdighirpar, Sylhet city, was arrested by the Kotwali police station on the basis of secret information on Friday (May 26) night and sent him to jail through the court. There is a storm of discussion everywhere in this incident. Apart from this, it is also known that his separation with his wife two years ago is being discussed socially.
On the other hand, it has been said in the complaint that on the last night of January 18, Haran Dhar took the maid to a room of the house and raped her and spent the night in that room. Then the maid started pressuring her for marriage. At one point, the maid was intimidated and threatened not to open her mouth about the incident. The maid filed a case in the Kotwali police station on May 26 in this incident. Based on this, the police arrested Haran Dhan.
