The Bandarban Football Players Association (BFPA) Gold Cup Football Tournament 2023 Inaugration Ceremony has been held in Bandarban following the outbreak of the global pandemic coronavirus (Covid-19). On Friday (26th May) at 3 pm in Bandarban district town Chairman of Bandarban Hill District Council Kyaw Shew Hla  announced the auspicious opening of the tournament organized by the players’ association by flying the dove of peace. During the chief guest’s speech at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Chairman Kyaw Shew Hla Said that the country is progressing in all fields including sports under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.There is no alternative to sports to protect the youth from the evil culture.The opening ceremony was presided over by Mongwai Ching, president of the players’ association. Bandarban District Awami League General Secretary and Bhdc Member Laxmi Pada Das,Sadar Upzila Chairman Akimbo Jahangir,Municipal Meyor Shourav Das Shakhar,Pressclub President Aminul Islam Bacchus,Secretary Minarul Huq, Tournament Management Committee convener Rafiqul Alam Mamun, secretary Monirul Islam were present.Sports organizer Mahfuzur Rashid Baccu was responsible for the narration. Later the guests enjoyed the game.Eight teams are participating in this knockout tournament.Lohagara Youth Football XI Won The Match 5-4 (Trybekar) in the opening game.Sakib,The goalkeeper of Lohagara team was adjudged the best player. Meanwhile,in the second game of the tournament Maddam Para XI won by (1-0). Goalkeeper Rusel won the man of the match award in the game.On this day, District Sports Association General Secretary Mujibur Rashid appeared as the chief guest and enjoyed the game and distributed prizes.
